David Schnell (1971) belongs to the 3rd generation of Leipziger Schule painters who the Drents Museum have been following for some time.
His monumental, fragmented paintings work biologically due to their sometimes unfathomable depth and bright colours. Especially the large formats with their single-point perspective suck you into the picture. Between abstract fragments, the remains of landscapes or interiors demand our attention.
 
The David Schnell - Saison exhibition can be seen from January 19, 2020 to Sept 27, 2020 in the Abbey Church ("Abdijkerk") in the Drents Museum.
