Vikings

Vikings was an exhibition about the world of the Vikings; a world which has changed with the archaeological discoveries of recent years. The exhibition was produced to go on tour in cultural historical museums in Europe. In May 2012 the Drents Museum in Assen was the very first venue of this joint production by the National Historical Museum of Stockholm (Sweden) and two organizations from Austria, MuseumsPartner in Innsbruck and Studio-Exhibit in Vienna. Families, adults and school classes are the main types of visitors aimed at.

The traveling exhibition Vikings could be seen as an extension and development of the permanent exhibition on the Vikings in the National Historical Museum in Stockholm, one of the world’s largest exhibitions of objects from the Viking era.
