Podcast: Frida's Loves

Famous Mexican artist Frida Kahlo had many loves: her painting, her clothes, her animals, her own reflection, her beloved homeland Mexico, her fight for equal rights and artist Diego Rivera. For our six-part podcast Frida's Loves (Frida's Liefdes) Cathelijne Blok, art historian and founder of the feminist art collective “The TittyMag”, talks to various guests who look at Frida Kahlo's loves from their own perspective. The podcast consists of 5 Dutch spoken episodes and 1 episode in English, which is episode #5.

Episode #5: I, Frida

In this episode: I Frida, Cathelijne Blok talks about identity and roots with Aynouk Tan, journalist, curator and advisor on fashion, gender and identity, with artist, singer-songwriter and producer Kris Berry and with Camilla Sutherland, university lecturer in European culture and literature and co-director of the Mexico Study Center at the University of Groningen. Frida Kahlo's painting 'My nurse and I' is explained by chief curator Annemiek Rens. The language of this episode is English. The conversation can be heard after the Dutch intro of the podcast.
