NAM director Johan Atema and our director Harry Tupan signed the contract today, Tuesday 24th August 2021, with which the NAM commits itself as a 'presenting partner' to the major art exhibition Viva la Frida! – Life and art of Frida Kahlo. The exhibition opens to the public on October 8th in the Drents Museum.
Harry Tupan: 'We are very pleased with the large financial contribution from NAM, which enables us, among other things, to develop special programs for the exhibition. Diversity and accessibility programs that complement our exhibition Viva la Frida! making it accessible to everyone. We would not have been able to achieve this without the support of NAM, which has been a sponsor of the Drents Museum since 1975.’
Johan Atema: 'As a company in Drenthe, NAM has had a special relationship with the Drents Museum for over 40 years. The museum in Assen is an institution in the presentation of visual art with a beautiful story. This has again been successfully achieved with the upcoming Frida Kahlo exhibition. The values Frida Kahlo stood for in her time when it came to diversity and inclusivity are an inspiration to all of us. Her art is also of great beauty.’
