New collectionpresentation Drents Museum

In the coming years, the museum will be made even more attractive with an extensive museum café, a new collection presentation and an adapted Abdijkerk. As a result, you may not be able to see certain objects, come across a closed room or you may experience some inconvenience from the construction activities. But we will remain open with beautiful exhibitions and activities. So there will be more than enough for everyone to see and experience in the near future! At the moment our collection of archeology, including the oldest boat in the world, Drenthe history, Art around 1900 and contemporary realism are not on display.

Pay attention! The Yde girl can be seen again temporarily in the exhibition Veenlijken.

What is there to see in the museum?

We will keep you informed online about what can and cannot be seen. Also follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for more information and to take a look behind the scenes.

Of course there is still plenty to admire in our museum! For example, The Largest Doll's house in the Netherlands and Codename: Energy are open to our public as standard. We also offer a very varied exhibition programme. Look here to see which exhibitions are currently on display.

New collection presentation

We expect that the new presentation of our collection can be seen from the end of 2022. From then on, the archaeological pieces will also be shown again, including the Pesse canoe and the princess of Zweeloo.
