A magical journey through the Drents Museum collection
Multi-sensory adventure
Wander through our historic building complex and experience the museum collection in a spectacular way. The iconic stories of Drenthe come to life in a unique way here. There are many activities for all ages in our fifteen rooms.
In Labyrinthia you can look with your hands, smell the paint of the Northern Figuratives and touch shards from the time of the dolmen builders. Learn the techniques of the mammoth hunters, pose with the jewelry of the Princess of Zweeloo or dance at a farmer's wedding.
In each room you will enter a completely different world and find yourself in the middle of the story.
White Maegie
The museum's fairytale like old buildings would not be out of place in fantasy stories such as The Chronicles of Narnia and Harry Potter. A ghost wanders through the buildings. The Witte Maegie is a house ghost, an ancient magical creature from Drenthe's history. She shows up unexpectedly in Labyrinthia, asks questions and challenges you to do things.

There are several exhibition rooms in our building. The Singelzaal is the large exhibition hall directly at the bottom of the stairs at the main entrance. In the Abbey Church in our museum you will find the Adbijzaal (Abbey Hall) downstairs and the Kloosterzaal (Monastery Hall) on the upper floor. The Brinkzalen are rooms opposite the Opkamer.
Is there a hall you can't find? Please ask our staff. We are happy to help you.
