Concert Khojayan and Poortinga

Armenia is not only known for its ancient culture, part of which can be seen in the Drents Museum, but also for its music. From Komitas, who is considered the father of Armenian music, to Khatchaturian who made Armenian classical music world famous.

The lesser known Baghdasaryan and Saryan are also represented in the concert by the Armenian violinist Meri Khojayan and Dutch pianist Robert Poortinga.

Khojayan is very connected to her homeland Armenia. As winner of the Khatchaturian Competition and the President's Award for her 'cultural achievements', she shows that her musicality and affinity with Armenian culture are very strong.
