Exhibitions & collection

  • The Drents Museum always has a number of changing exhibitions and we also have a rich collection of our own. You can visit our own collection in our new collection presentation Labyrinthia.
All current exhibitions and presentations can be found on the exhibitions page.

More and more objects can also be found online. Learn all about your favorite object and discover new treasures!

  • At the moment, Peasant burning weeds is on display in our museum, as part of Labyrinthia. The painting The peat barge can be seen in the Groninger Museum from 30 November 2024 to 5 May 2025. The watercolour Landscape with a farm is currently not on display. Due to the fragility of the work, this painting is not on display continuously. If you want to know when it will be on display again, keep an eye on our online channels or check the website before your visit.

  • In the rooms of Labyrinthia you will find QR codes that you can scan. These will take you to the Labyrinthia webapp. Here you will find all the information about the masterpieces and objects. You can also listen to the audio transcripts of each room.

  • There are several exhibition rooms in our building. The Singelzaal is the large exhibition hall directly at the bottom of the stairs at the main entrance. In the Abbey Church in our museum you will find the Adbijzaal (Abbey Hall) downstairs and the Kloosterzaal (Monastery Hall) on the upper floor. The Brinkzalen are rooms opposite the Opkamer.
Is there a hall you can't find? Please ask our staff. We are happy to help you.

Accessibility

  • Registered assistance or guide dogs are welcome in the museum, other pets are not.

  • Most of the museum is easily accessible for people with reduced mobility. Most floors are accessible by elevator and there are wheelchair-accessible toilets. The museum has free wheelchairs, walkers and folding stools for anyone who wants to use them. Unfortunately, part of the monumental section of the museum is less accessible.

Because of the number of wheelchairs and walkers being limited, you can reserve them via +31 (0)592 - 377 773.

More information about the accessibility of the building can be found here.

Supervisors (on presentation of a public transport companion card) and registered assistance and guide dogs are of course very welcome and can enter the museum free of charge.

Tickets

  • Adults pay €15.00 for a ticket, unless there is an exhibition change. In that case, an adult ticket costs €8.00. Children up to 18 years of age have free admission. In case of some exhibitions, an additional charge is applied. Click here for a full overview of our current prices.

  • Once the order has been confirmed and paid for, an email including the ticket(s) will be sent to the email address provided by you. You will receive this email in your inbox within a few minutes. Did you not receive an email? Please check your spam and add the Drents Museum to your safe senders. Did the email not end up in your spam? Send an email to tickets@drentsmuseum.nl.

  • We recommend that you order tickets in advance through our website. Are you unable to order tickets online? In that case tickets can also be purchased at the cash register in the museum.

  • Do you own a Museum card, Friends card, Rembrandt card or ICOM card? Then you get free access to the museum (depending on surcharges for exhibitions). We recommend that you also order your ticket online in this case. When you visit, don't forget to bring the card that gives you free access.

  • No that is not necessary. We can scan the tickets from your mobile phone. If you have your tickets ready at the entrance of the museum, it will speed up the process.

  • Yes, that's possible. Tickets can be purchased during opening hours and are only valid on that same day. In case museum is very busy, you might have to wait a while.

  • To ensure a pleasant and enjoyable visit to all our visitors, it is necessary to select a specific day. This way we know how many visitors we can welcome that day and when the maximum number of visitors has been reached.

  • There are no combination tickets available at the moment.

  • What a good idea! Of course it is possible to buy a ticket for someone else. It could be a nice gift. In step 3, enter the details of the person for whom you are purchasing the ticket. After payment, the ticket will be sent to the email address specified in the personal data.

  • Unfortunately, it is not possible to return tickets. Therefore, always check your order before paying. It is, however, possible to exchange tickets for a different date and time.

You are, of course, free to resell a ticket. In your own network or, for example, via Ticketswap. Please note: The Drents Museum cannot be held liable for invalid tickets purchased through third parties.

  • Select the ticket you need in the ticket street, for example a ticket for adults. At the bottom of the 'type tickets' page you can enter a discount code. Click on 'enter discount code' and the discount will be applied. A discount code cannot be used in combination with other promotional codes for the same order.

Have you received multiple access codes? Then you will have to order one free ticket at a time. After your order you will be able to use the next code.
