Doedag

A beautiful artwork by Henk Helmantel is on display in the Zaal van de Verwondering at Labyrinthia. It is a still life. He paints them often. First, he places all kinds of everyday objects and then starts moving them around until he's happy with how they look. Did you know that Henk drew a lot as a child and that he sometimes moves things around for hours before he starts sketching?

Under the guidance of museum educators, you will sketch a still life yourself during this workshop. Who knows, you might even develop the sketch into a drawing and turn it into a painting at home…

A large coloring page of Labyrinthia was created for the museum in collaboration with Studio Makii. This coloring page is for sale in the museum shop. Especially for the Doedag, a mega version of this drawing measuring a whopping 400 by 280 centimeters has been made. This way, all children can color in the entirety of Labyrinthia together!
