Hans Hoekstra in the Atelier

- Drents Museum
On 2 March 2025, artist Hans Hoekstra will talk with you!
What makes a painting attractive? What is happening in this drawing? Or how would you like to develop yourself further as an artist?
Bring your own painting, drawing or graphic and join other (amateur) artists in a conversation with Hans Hoekstra. In an open dialogue, you will discuss your own work and that of the other participants. Hoekstra offers a listening ear, asks questions, gives advice and maybe even offers a new perspective.
In principle the main language will be Dutch, but English-speaking visitors are very welcome to join the open dialogue.
Register soon, as there are a limited number of places available.
‘'I don't have a clear idea in advance of what a painting should look like. I just start. The best thing is when I get into a process where the painting takes over, as it were, when the work starts telling me what needs to happen. That letting go is wonderful.'’
Hans Hoekstra (1983, Groningen) likes to share his pleasure in painting in the classroom of the Classical Academy and now also in the studio of Gen F. He studied at the Academy Minerva in Groningen, the KunstAkademie Düsseldorf and at De Atelier in Amsterdam. Nowadays he makes colourful work that can be described as 'an ode to the everyday'.
