Labyrinthia
A magical journey of discovery through fifteen rooms of the museum. View all the masterpieces from our own collection, such as Yde's girl, Pesse's canoe and Van Gogh's paintings.
Street artist Nina Valkhof will create a mural on the Dotterbloemflat in Assen-Oost in the summer of 2024. This will break open the walls of our museum as a participant in the Museum Murals project.
The mural will incorporate several pieces from the Drents Museum collection and the yet-to-be-opened Labyrinthia. The chosen design is inspired by a brass Dish with bullheads and eels by Johanna van Eijbergen, the Farmer horn wijster, Geranium by Julie de Graag and Peasant Burning Weeds by Vincent van Gogh from our collection.
These pieces are currently stored in the depot and will return to the museum in the autumn of 2024. Labyrinthia, our new collection presentation, brings together masterpieces from the archaeology, art and history collections.
