Alle Jong – Mijne Kinderlijke Traanen

- 24 September 2019 till 22 February 2020
- Drents Museum
From 24 September 2019 to 5 January 2020, the exhibition Mijne Kinderlijke Traanen (My Childish Tears) - Installations and drawings shows the work of artist Alle Jong.
Alle Jong (Hemrik, 1988) views the world from the past. That past has a deep impact on his thoughts, language and images. He calls his "monumental rooms" in black and white. These drawings often consist largely of black planes. They are reminiscent of black holes or dark burrows. At the edge, in full light, is a man, a woman, a tree or an object. Sometimes a building emerges from the dark, made of posts and canvases that are overgrown by nature. In this mysterious space in this remarkable place, Alle Jong brings together 17th, 18th and 19th century prints with historical representations.

The museum has free wheelchairs, walkers and folding stools for anyone who wants to use them. Unfortunately, part of the monumental section of the museum is less accessible.
Because of the number of wheelchairs and walkers being limited, you can reserve them via +31 (0)592 - 377 773.
More information about the accessibility of the building can be found here.
